With Canto, you can now manually upload subtitles or captions to a video, and Canto will embed the file in the video.
For now, Canto only supports VTT (WebVTT) or SRT files. See below for instructions on how to get started.
Note: This feature may need to be enabled for your account first. Contact your account manager for further information!

How to enable Subtitles or Captions for your Videos
In the Settings:
- Under Transcription for videos make sure that you have Setup Video Transcription service to automatically create subtitles in a video activated.
In the Preview:
- In the preview mode, click on the Transcribe Video icon to open the Video Transcribe options.
- The Transcribe Videos dialogue is displayed.
- Under Transcribe Automatically, select the video's language.
- Click Transcribe.
- If you want to upload your own subtitles go ahead and choose the desired language under Transcribe Manually and click on Upload.
- Click Close.
When playing the video, you can now select one of the available subtitle tracks.
How to make edits
You can make changes to the transcribed video within the Video Captions section which you can find on your information page (learn how to add fields to your information page).
- Click on the Pen-icon in order to edit the subtitles within Canto.
- Edit the subtitles.
- Click Save.
Alternately you can make changes to the transcribed video by:
- In the preview mode, click on the Transcribe Video icon to open the Video Transcribe options.
- Click Download.
- You should then have downloaded a ready to edit SRT file.
You can use any text editor to edit the file (ie. Notepad or TextEdit). The file is timestamped. - Once you have made the necessary changes, you can click Upload to upload the SRT file with the updated captions.
