Cache Issues - Canto Adobe Connector

When using our Canto Adobe Connector you might receive an error message in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, or Premiere Pro that looks like this:

- or -

In this case, the issue might be caused by the cache of your Adobe product.

How to troubleshoot those those cases

  • Close your Adobe product, in this example InDesign.
  • Delete the content of the Canto Adobe Connector cache folder:
    Windows
    C:\canto\
    macOS
    Hard Drive/Users/<USER>/Documents/canto/
  • Delete the contents of the InDesign Default folder:

    Windows

    C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\InDesign\<Version #>\<Language>\

    macOS
    Hard Drive/Users/<USER>/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign/<Version #>/<Language>/

  • Delete the content of the InDesign cache folder:
    Windows
    C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Adobe\InDesign\<Version #>\<Language>\Caches\
    macOS
    Hard Drive/Users/<USER>/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign/<Version #>/<Language>/

Use these steps to clear the entire cache of your InDesign installation and the Canto Adobe Connector.

Note: The above-mentioned steps will clear the entire cache of your InDesign installation and our Connector. The next time you open InDesign, it will take longer as all individual settings are cleared. This also means that you might have to arrange the different panels etc.
