Videos appear overexposed


When uploading videos to Canto and certain other platforms, your videos may appear to be overexposed but appear fine on your computer. Certain video files appear overexposed when displaying on web browsers because of how the file was encoded.


This can be remedied by making adjustments to your browser settings. 


Google Chrome

To make the adjustment via Chrome:

  1. Go to the top right corner of the Chrome browser and navigate to Settings.
  2. Go to the left-hand panel and select Advanced > System and toggle off "Use hardware acceleration when available".
  3. You may see the Relaunch button appear. Select Relaunch.  

Mozilla Firefox

To make the adjustment via Firefox:

  1. Go to the top right corner of the Firefox browser and navigate to Settings.
  2. In the General tab scroll down until you are in the Performance section. De-select "Use recommended performance settings" and afterwards you will see "Use hardware acceleration when available" which you have to deacti


Microsoft Edge

To make the adjustment via Edge:

  1. Go to the top right corner of the Edge browser and navigate to Settings.
  2. Navigate to System on the left-hand panel. From there toggle off "Use hardware acceleration when available".
  3. You may see the Restart button appear. Select Restart and your browser will reopen.
